Unemployment benefits for employees on unpaid leave
An employee who went on unpaid leave during the first two days of the war and remained for at least five days may be eligible for unemployment benefits.
Implementation and payment
Implementation is expected within 45 days, with payments anticipated during June 2026.
Validity period
The scheme is valid during the emergency period until 14 April 2026, with a possible extension to 14 May 2026 if the security situation continues.
Additional notes
New mothers — unpaid-leave time counts toward the qualifying period for maternity benefits.
Self-employed and service providers under the insured-classification order may be eligible for unemployment benefits.
Ages 67+ — eligible for a special grant under set conditions.
